Born and raised in artistically diverse Portland, Oregon, Tim Carter started playing guitar 22 years ago at age 15. His influences range from the unique and colourful styles of George Lynch, Guthrie Govan, Devin Townsend, and Misha Monsoor, to Stevie Wonder, Imogen Heap, Regina Spektor, and many more.

Tim has been envolved as an instrumental collaborator for music placed on major network television. In 2010 he won the theme song contest and current theme placement for the "Funemployment Radio Podcast". He is also known for his company approved review of "Kuassa Software" product "Amplifikation One". Tim is currently working on an instrumental guitar project "Inner Imposter".

In recent years we’ve seen a heavier influx of electronic music flavors influencing genres of rock and metal. Now that we’re able to cross-pollinate effects onto our guitars that would otherwise be exclusive to drums or synthesizers, it opens up a wider range of possibilities for a much more interesting musical journey. For this tutorial I’m going to show how to get a popular “glitch” or “stutter” type effect on your guitar tracks. This effect can of course be used on any instrument. The plugin that we will be using for the glitch effect is a free plugin called DBlue Glitch.
